Abstract

An 8-year-old female patient, with an unremarkable past medical history, presented at the emergency department with acute onset of abdominal pain, without fever, and one episode of vomiting. Pain occurred 8 hours previously, was localised over the right lower quadrant and was intermittent. Laboratory studies showed elevated white blood cells (17,000/mL). Pelvic Ultrasound scan (US) (Figs. 1, 2) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) (Figs. 3-5) were performed.
